Fawn Sorgi has been the Director of Orchestras and the instructor of AP Music Theory at McKinney High School since 2007. Ms. Sorgi earned a Bachelor of Music Education from West Texas A&M University in 1996. While at WTAMU, Ms. Sorgi was a member of the Symphony Orchestra, Marching Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Opera pit, and the Matilda Gaume Early Music Consort.
Ms. Sorgi was voted Teacher of the Year in the Lewisville ISD for the 2005-2006 school year after being runner up the year before and has been named four times to the Who’s Who Among American Teachers. She is currently the Region 25 Orchestra Division Chair and has also served as Region 24 Secretary in addition to acting as the Computer Software Administrator. Ms. Sorgi is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Orchestra Directors Association (TODA) and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association (TMAA). Ms. Sorgi’s orchestras have consistently received Sweepstakes awards at UIL contests as well as superior ratings and numerous honors at competitions for eleven consecutive years. For this reason, she is highly sought after as an orchestral judge and clinician across Texas.
